Awas politik toksik, Anwar pesan pelajar junjung nilai murni

Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim has urged students interested in politics to uphold high moral values and prioritize public service, warning of the toxic culture prevalent in the political arena. He emphasized that the real challenge lies in cultivating principled and dedicated individuals who can maintain these values when venturing into the political realm.

Anwar stated that Malaysia has been shadowed by several high-profile scandals in recent years, including the 1MDB issue and recent controversies surrounding Felda and Tabung Haji. He questioned how society can promote integrity and discourage corruption among young generations.

The Prime Minister stressed that Malaysia needs a cadre of knowledgeable, principled, and service-oriented politicians who can safeguard the nation. He emphasized that the political profession can be prestigious if approached with integrity, but it can also become a profession tainted by corruption if influenced by those with clear-cut self-interest.

Addressing a question from a Year 6 student interested in politics, Anwar announced the government's agreement to provide special allowances to Year 6 students, which will be included in the 2027 budget. However, he did not reveal the amount of the allowance, stating that it depends on the government's financial capacity.
