APC chairman shot dead in Kogi

Ishaq Yunusa, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was killed in Dekina Local Government Area, Kogi State. The Kogi State Police conducted an investigation following the incident that took place along the Itobe–Ochadamu Expressway in Ofu Local Government Area. The attack occurred around 5:00 pm on Thursday when armed men emerged from the dense bush and began firing indiscriminately at passing vehicles.

A blue Toyota Corolla was discovered abandoned on the highway, containing the deceased Yunusa's lifeless body inside. Another person was taken by the assailants into the surrounding forest. Police are combing the forest to rescue the abducted individual and apprehend the attackers. The Commissioner of Police, Naziru Kankarofi, has ordered intensified security measures along the affected route and urged motorists and residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
