AIDSO condemns govt. move to ban student organisations in college polls

All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) has vehemently opposed the State government's decision to prohibit student organisations during college elections. The government's rationale for this ban is to prevent any student organisation from participating in campus activities. According to a press release, this move is highly objectionable and contradicts the current challenges faced by the education system.

A nationwide people's movement is underway to address these issues. The press release emphasizes that student elections are crucial in allowing students to voice their opinions in policy-making and implementation. The government's decision to restrict students from engaging in politics under the guise of curbing political parties is seen as an effort to suppress student movements against the government's anti-student policies.

AIDSO argues that student unions should serve as platforms to tackle college problems. Banning student organisations will hinder organized student movements. AIDSO asserts that denying students the opportunity to adopt any ideology forces them to blindly accept government decisions. The release questions what kind of students the government intends to produce by asking them to remain silent in the face of injustice.

AIDSO criticizes the Congress party, which previously supported struggles against Union government policies, for now attempting to suppress student movements in the state where it holds power. The organization demands an immediate withdrawal of the government's decision and urges students to unite against this anti-student measure.
