Agalga assumes office as Majority Leader, pledges consensus building

James Agalga, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament representing Builsa North, has officially taken on the role of Majority Leader in Parliament. This appointment came about as a result of communication from the NDC to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, regarding alterations in the leadership structure of the NDC Parliamentary Caucus. The shift in leadership became essential following Mahama Ayariga's nomination as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs.

Upon assuming his new position, Mr Agalga expressed his intention to lead the Majority Caucus with a focus on consensus-building. In his address after taking office, he reassured the Minority Leader, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, and the entire Minority Caucus that he would prioritize consultation and compromise when necessary.

This approach aims to ensure that Parliament can effectively carry out its duties and contribute to the nation's progress. Agalga emphasized his commitment to working with the Minority Caucus and reaching out to them for consultation, all while striving to accomplish the Reset Agenda of the President for the betterment of the entire country.
