혼인신고하면 100만원…최대 1억 수령 아이펀드 신설

The South Korean government has announced plans to introduce a marriage support fund, providing newlyweds with 100 million won and a potential maximum payout of 1 billion won upon the fund's expiration. The government announced this as part of the '2027 Youth Budget Unpacking 2027' event held at the Presidential Office on July 28th.

The measure aims to alleviate the economic burden of young couples getting married by providing 100 million won to couples who complete their marriage ceremonies starting next year. The government initially provided 50 million won per person as a tax credit for married couples, but switched to a supplementary fund system due to concerns about low-income young couples not being able to afford the tax payments.

The marriage support fund will be a one-time payout throughout a lifetime, and will be allocated based on the family's income level. Parents will contribute and the government will match up to 120 million won through the 'Our Child Self-Funding Fund.' The payout can reach 1.6 billion won upon expiration, covering expenses such as housing, education, job hunting, asset accumulation, and marriage support.

The announcement also included the introduction of a green organic food supply program for pregnant women and a significant increase in child allowances for children under 9 years old.
