Zolani Tete remembered as a beacon of hope to young boxers

Zolani Tete, the two-time World Champion boxer, has been remembered as a beacon of hope for young boxers in the Eastern Cape. The memorial service for the 38-year-old, who was tragically killed outside his home in Mdantsane, was held at Nangoza Jebe Community Hall and was attended by legends of the sport. The event, organized by the Nelson Mandela Bay Boxing fraternity, aimed to honor Tete's contribution to boxing and urged local boxing promoters to forge strong relationships with the boxing fraternity from Mdantsane.

Four people have been arrested in connection with his murder. Tete's former opponents, including young emerging boxers, praised his impact on the sport, stating that he played an instrumental role in their careers. Rezell Mohammed, a female emerging boxer, expressed her excitement about Tete's return to boxing and emphasized the importance of putting South Africa on the map through boxing.
