Who Is Garrett Highlander? Man With ‘MrChildPorn’ Username Arrested
A West Virginia man allegedly used Discord’s AI to seek explicit images of infants before telling police he was “rage baiting.”
Garrett Michael Highlander, a 20-year-old resident of Morgantown, West Virginia, has been arrested for alleged possession of child sexual abuse material. He was apprehended following 48 cyber-tip reports made to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. West Virginia State Police searched Highlander's residence in Morgantown and identified him through a Discord user account named "MrChildPorn."
The investigation revealed conversations in which Highlander claimed to possess the material and offered to exchange it. Despite dismissing these claims as "trolling" and "rage baiting," investigators found evidence of him using Discord's AI chatbot to search for explicit content involving infants and allegedly belonging to servers where young girls were groomed or encouraged to harm themselves.
He denies participating in any such conduct, but authorities allege that he had over 50 but fewer than 300 images and a sexually explicit video of an "apparent prepubescent female," estimated to be between 15 and 17 years old. Highlander is being held at North Central Regional Jail with a $100,000 bond, and his case is currently in the early stages of a felony court process.
