WATCH LIVE: Attorneys make closing arguments in Lindsay Clancy trial

The jury in Lindsay Clancy's murder trial began deliberations on Thursday as prosecutors presented an explosive closing argument challenging her psychosis defense. Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague argued that Clancy knowingly chose to kill her three children, Cora, Dawson and Callan, in January 2023. She pointed to Clancy's actions prior to the killings, such as arranging errands for her husband and speaking with her family, as evidence of her mental capacity.

Sprague also emphasized that Clancy's claim of hearing a male voice instruct her to kill her children was inconsistent. The prosecution's final witness, forensic psychiatrist Dr. Gregory Saathoff, testified that Clancy had the ability to understand right from wrong. Clancy's defense team argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and should not be held criminally responsible, relying on testimony from Dr. Phillip Resnick.

The jury will now deliberate and consider potential verdicts including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, manslaughter, not guilty, and not guilty by reason of insanity.
