Valkyries’ bench sets franchise record with 54 points in 89-64 win over Sun

In a decisive 89-64 victory over the Connecticut Sun, the Golden State Valkyries set a franchise record with an impressive 54 points from their bench. Janelle Salaun led the charge with four three-pointers and 15 points, while Veronica Burton contributed 12 points and seven assists. The first half saw Golden State close with a 14-0 run, leading 55-27.

However, Connecticut managed to score the last three minutes of the half, ending the quarter with a 9-for-33 shooting performance. Just in the fourth quarter, Kaila Charles scored 14 points for the Valkyries, while Juste Jocyte pushed the lead to 87-52. The Golden State team featured 14 players on the floor, with 11 recording at least two points.

Rookie Charlisse Leger-Walker helped Connecticut reach a season-high 17 points, and Nell Angloma contributed 11. Connecticut finished the game 22-of-71 from the field, while the Sun's shooting efficiency was 31%. Seattle defeated Toronto 64-61, with Flau’jae Johnson scoring 20 points and Dominique Malonga adding 18. Rookie Kiki Rice had a career-high 24 points for Toronto, who lost their last 14 games.
