Trump moves to rename Lake Ontario to "Lake America"

Donald Trump has renamed Lake Ontario to "Lake America" due to record-high beef prices in the United States. The drought and wildfires have pushed the cattle population to its lowest level in 75 years. The order is part of a plan to increase the import amount of lean beef by 300,000 metric tons, exempting imports from tariffs. Trump had hinted at the move the previous week.

Earlier this year, his administration imposed import restrictions on cattle from Mexico to combat the spread of a livestock disease. On September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks killed nearly 3,000 people in the United States. The mastermind of the attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, was captured in Pakistan in 2003 and interrogated by the CIA.

He was transferred to Guantanamo Bay in 2006, where he was to face military tribunals for his role in the 9/11 attacks. The proceedings have been delayed for years. Trump has also banned certain foreign technologies from being used in the US power grid, citing national security concerns. The regulation also requires the US Energy Department to set conditions for the use and operation of such equipment to address the administration's concerns.

The recent attack increased the total number of people killed by US military strikes since Trump took office to at least 227. So far, there have been 68 such strikes. The US is the biggest contributor to the UN, but under Trump's administration, it has withheld routine contributions and pushed for deep cuts. The US debt to the UN stands at over $4 billion.
