Tiada pengesahan kemalangan jiwa rakyat Malaysia di Nepal, kata Wisma Putra

Malaysia's Embassy in Nepal has stated that they have not received official confirmation of any human rights disasters involving 55 Malaysian nationals who have gone missing since a sudden flood hit Rasuwa district in Nepal yesterday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that they are taking in false information circulating on social media and various unofficial channels.

The Malaysian Embassy in Kathmandu is actively seeking confirmation from Nepalese authorities. As of now, the Ministry has not received any official confirmation of any human rights disasters involving Malaysian citizens. The Ministry also urged the public not to speculate or share false information, as it can cause unwarranted anxiety and pressure on the affected families.

The Embassy stated that the Malaysian Embassy in Kathmandu remains in constant contact with Nepalese authorities, rescue teams, Nepal Tourism Corporation, tourism agencies, and the main hospital in Kathmandu, to ensure the safety and whereabouts of Malaysian citizens. Consular officials at the High Commission of Malaysia in New Delhi and the Malaysian Embassy in Beijing are now handling matters related to the authorities in both countries.

Early today, it was reported that 55 Malaysian nationals, including two bomb squad officers and 17 Malaysians on a religious pilgrimage to Tibet, were still untraceable since the sudden flood hit Rasuwa, Nepal yesterday. At least 332 people were killed after the Bhote Koshi River overflowed in Rasuwa, Nepal yesterday, according to Kathmandu Post.

More than 820 others, including hundreds of foreign tourists, are still unaccounted for as rescue and search operations continue.
