The White Lotus season four: Inside the French Riviera hotels setting the scene

The French Riviera, synonymous with Hollywood glamour and old-money intrigue, will serve as the breathtaking backdrop for HBO's hit show The White Lotus season four. The South of France, featuring the glamorous towns of Saint-Tropez, Cannes, and Monaco, will provide an ideal setting for the show's star-studded cast and staff.

The plot for season four revolves around two rival film teams competing during the Cannes Film Festival, with each team checking into one of the luxurious White Lotus hotels in the region. Two iconic properties, Airelles Chateau de la Messardiere in Saint-Tropez and the Hotel Martinez on the Cannes Croisette, will be transformed into the White Lotus du Cap and White Lotus Cannes, respectively.

Airelles Chateau de la Messardiere, a century-old property with a storied history, was recently revitalized and reopened as a five-star hotel in 2021. Surrounded by a 13-hectare park of fragrant pines and towering cypress trees, the palace-style hotel offers guests 86 rooms and suites adorned with Provencal terracotta tones, natural fabrics, and king-size beds. The property boasts a Valmont Spa, three pools, and a complimentary Rolls-Royce for exploring the surrounding Ramatuelle vineyards.

Hotel Martinez, an iconic Cannes landmark, has hosted numerous Hollywood celebrities and served as the Cannes Film Festival Jury dinner location for the past three decades. Its white facade, grand chandelier, and spiral staircase provide an ideal setting for filming, and its beach club and spa could provide a stylish backdrop for scenes in the upcoming season.

Production is expected to return to the French Riviera after the peak summer period, with the official release date for season four of The White Lotus yet to be confirmed by HBO, but slated for 2027.
