#SHOWBIZ: Gavin Yap brings acclaimed one-man show 'Fork It' to JCPAC

Kuala Lumpur - Renowned actor, writer, theatre director, and filmmaker Gavin Yap is bringing his popular one-man show, Fork It, to the Jeffrey Cheah Performing Arts Centre (JCPAC) in Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya. The show, which previously premiered at Bobo KL in November, is set to run from September 11 to 13.

In a recent interview, Yap revealed that Fork It is a hilarious and heartwarming journey through his personal experiences, with each story and memory tied to a distinct milestone food dish. The show explores the unique relationship Malaysians have with food culture, from childhood cravings to adult indulgences and even career choices.

Yap explained that food plays a significant role in shaping his identity as a person and a Malaysian. He shared, "So much of my relationship with myself as a person and ultimately, a Malaysian is connected to food. It connects the dots from me not responding to the food when I first moved here as a child to it now being an indispensable part of my life and who I am as a person."

Fork It offers audiences a chance to enjoy both laughter and nostalgia as Yap shares these personal stories in a relatable and entertaining manner. Performances will take place at The Studio, JCPAC at 8:30pm and 3pm, with ticket prices ranging from RM90 to RM150.
