Sharjah rolls out residential parking permits in three neighbourhoods

Sharjah has introduced a new residential parking permit system in three neighborhoods - Al Fisht, Sharqan, and Al Rifa'a. The city municipality aims to reserve parking spaces for residents only, regulate their use to deter misuse, and maintain the aesthetic appeal of residential areas. Inspectors have been working tirelessly to address parking violations, particularly those involving motorists parking in the front of residential homes to avoid paying public parking fees.

Hamed Al Qaed, Director of the Public Parking Department, emphasized that a dedicated team is monitoring residents' complaints and observations to ensure compliance with the approved parking regulations. The initiative seeks to reduce inconveniences for residents and improve traffic movement within the neighborhoods. Residents of the three targeted areas can now register their vehicles through the municipality's website, enabling inspectors to identify authorized vehicles easily.

Additionally, the municipality has introduced a visitor parking registration service, allowing homeowners to register the vehicles of their visitors via the call center.
