Sharjah real estate: Emirati women invest $735m as property ownership rises in 2026

The Adnoc Technical Academy has initiated a major program to train Emirati women engineers, marking a significant step forward for women in the energy sector. The 24-month diploma program, set to commence next month, will provide practical training at Adnoc's operational sites across the UAE's energy industry. This inaugural cohort of up to 50 women will be joined by an estimated 250 graduates between 2028 and 2030, who will specialize in electrical, mechanical, and oil and gas maintenance.

Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, emphasized the pivotal role of Emirati women in society, ranging from family nurturing to high-level positions in government and business. The program's director general, Ahmed Al Menhali, highlighted the program's aim to equip women for critical roles alongside their male counterparts within the energy sector.

Support from families and the academy's own efforts to foster a welcoming environment have been vital in encouraging more Emirati women to pursue such careers. Adnoc's commitment to increasing female representation in technical roles by 25% by 2030 aligns with a broader national vision aimed at harnessing advanced technology to drive the future of energy.
