Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Launches With Upgraded Chipset, Android 17, and More AI Features

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S26 FE, introducing its newest Galaxy AI capabilities, a refined Exynos processor, and Android 17 to the Fan Edition range. Design and Display The Galaxy S26 FE is equipped with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of up to 1,900 nits.

Its dimensions are 161.6 × 76.9 × 7.4mm, and it weighs 193g. The device is available in Blueberry, Pistachio, and Graphite variants. Internals and Software The Galaxy S26 FE is powered by the 3nm Exynos 2500, an upgrade from the Exynos 2400 found in last year's S25 FE. This new chipset features enhanced CPU cores, an advanced AMD RDNA-based GPU, and a more robust NPU for AI tasks.

It offers 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB, 256GB, or, in certain regions, 512GB. This is the inaugural Galaxy S26 series device to ship with Android 17 and One UI 9 pre-installed. The phone introduces new AI functionalities such as an improved Now Brief, customizable briefing cards, Now Nudge, and an enhanced Circle to Search that can identify multiple objects within a single image.

Samsung guarantees seven iterations of Android updates and seven years of security patches. Cameras The camera setup remains largely unchanged. The rear setup comprises a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens with optical zoom and up to 30x digital zoom. New software features encompass My FanCam, which automatically follows and centers a chosen individual in pre-existing videos. Super Steady now incorporates Horizontal Lock to ensure the video remains level even during movement. Nightography has been improved for low-light photography. Photo Assist allows for natural-language instructions to add or remove objects, alter backgrounds, and perform other edits.

Gemini Omni can also generate and edit video clips using photos and videos stored in the Gallery. Battery and Pricing The Galaxy S26 FE houses a 4,900mAh battery with a 45W wired charging capability, a 15W wireless charging option, and Wireless PowerShare. Samsung claims the phone can achieve approximately 69% charge in 30 minutes using a compatible 45W adapter.

Pricing begins at $699.99 for the 128GB model, which is a $50 increase from the launch price of its predecessor.
