Pasar menara Sunway Lagoon confirmed a roller-coaster malfunction caused 10 passengers to sustain injuries, according to the state's Occupational Safety and Health Department (JKKP). Initial investigations found the ride, which carried 22 individuals, functioning normally until it unexpectedly stopped about 200 meters from the exit area.

The sudden halt activated emergency braking, leading to the incident. Ten passengers were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment following the abrupt stop, with the JKKP Selangor issuing a Stop Work Order to facilitate further investigation and forensic examination by the JKKP Putrajaya Technical Department. The inquiry, conducted under Section 18(1) of the Work, Health and Safety Act 1994, is also gathering statements from the ride's owner and witnesses.

Police Subang Jaya Wan Azlan Mamat previously reported that 10 visitors suffered minor injuries, all between the ages of 11 and 44, Malaysian citizens and foreign tourists, with no serious injuries reported. The incident gained public attention after numerous videos circulated on social media, including one showing a woman being thrown near the roller-coaster track.
