Rafe Judkins Inks Overall Deal With Paramount Television Studios As Paramount+ Ramps Up Worldbuilding Efforts

Paramount Television Studios has signed an exclusive overall deal with "Wheel of Time" creator Rafe Judkins to develop and produce original scripted series for the network. Judkins expressed his excitement about the opportunity to create ambitious television and build new stories with partners at Paramount. He will report to studio president Matt Thunell, whose praise for Judkins' ability to develop immersive worlds and compelling characters highlights the company's confidence in the creator.

Judkins previously worked for Sony Pictures Television, where he served as showrunner for Amazon and Sony's "The Wheel of Time" series, which concluded its run after three seasons in 2025. He is also known for his involvement in "God of War," the video game adaptation, and for co-creating shows like "Chuck" and "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Judkins began his career as a writer on NBC's "My Own Worst Enemy" and has since worked on projects including the action-adventure film "Uncharted" and the Netflix series "The Red Tent." Paramount has recently expanded its creative partnerships, including agreements with the creators of "Yellowjackets" and a joint deal with Liz Tigelaar and CBS Studios.

Additionally, Issa Rae recently secured a first-look deal for both film and television projects with Paramount.
