Purdue football forms toughness at receiver under new position coach

Tra Mar Harris, a third-year Boilermaker receiver, feels that the chemistry within Purdue's wide receiver room has significantly improved since last year. In an interview, Harris mentioned that he can now "contact any of those dudes," be it a walk-on or a scholarship player. Harris credits the newfound unity to Bilal Marshall, the former dual threat quarterback turned receiver coach, who has taken charge of the position group since Purdue head coach Barry Odom promoted him to the role.

Marshall believes that his leadership has positively affected the team's atmosphere, emphasizing that the room takes on his personality. With key players returning from injuries, including Chauncey Magwood, Jalil Hall, and Corey Smith, along with new talents like Xavier Townsend and Asaad Waseem, Purdue's receivers seem to be forming a formidable unit, capable of posing a significant challenge to opposing defenses.
