PTI to hold rally in Karachi on Sept 6, KP CM Sohail Afridi to tour Sindh

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced plans for a public rally in Karachi on September 6, 2024, according to a press conference in the city. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is scheduled to begin a four-day visit to Sindh on September 3, along with the party’s central leadership. The delegation will commence their tour from Jacobabad, traveling to Naushehro Feroze, Hyderabad, and finally reaching Karachi on September 6.

A major rally is expected to be held on Shahrah-i-Quaideen in Karachi on September 6, as the party hopes authorities will grant permission for the event. PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja also mentioned that September 27 would be observed as Democracy Day, with protests planned for the release of party founder Imran Khan. Raja alleged that the elections had been marred by severe rigging and claimed that PTI candidates had won 21 out of the 22 National Assembly seats in Karachi.

He expressed concerns over the country’s poor healthcare system, citing the recent death of 14 newborn babies at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims). Around 25 million children in Pakistan are currently out of school, exacerbating the issue of social and educational segregation. Raja accused the current system of failing the poor and claimed that people who raise their voices for democracy are being targeted.

He urged the public to come out and make their voices heard, emphasizing that if 250 million people participate, the current system will collapse.
