Pakistani Fast Bowler Announces Retirement from International Cricket

Pakistani fast bowler Aimen Anwar has announced her retirement from international cricket, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The 29-year-old made her international debut against England in 2016, marking her as the 37th player to represent Pakistan in T20Is. Anwar played eight ODIs and 37 T20Is for her country, claiming four and 29 wickets respectively.

She participated in the ICC Women's T20 World Cups in 2018, 2020 and 2022-23, and also represented Pakistan at the 2022 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. Anwar began her domestic career with Karachi Under-19 in 2010, and has since transitioned into broadcasting and match officiating. She officiated her first match as a referee during the National Women’s Under-19 Tournament in January. Her retirement ends an international career spanning nearly seven years with Pakistan.
