Orofino looking for bounce back season in co-op with Timberline

Orofino football is set to begin its second year in a co-op arrangement with Timberline, adding new opponents to their schedule. The Maniacs will face Marsing, Parma, and Logos of Moscow, a school that has moved up to the 3A classification this season. They will also continue to face common opponents from previous years, including Salmon, St. Maries, Priest River, Grangeville, and Kellogg.

Coaches and players are looking forward to the return of several key players. Senior Liam Miller, who has had a productive offseason, is expected to take on a heavy workload at running back and may even switch to linebacker. Luke Dafoe will move from defensive tackle to middle linebacker, while Korbin Christopherson, the former quarterback, will start at the position this year.

Christopherson, who only played 8-man football previously, is expected to contribute significantly to the offense despite the adjustment to the 11-man format.

The biggest uncertainty for the Maniacs is the strength of their offensive and defensive lines. While they have a strong cast of skill position players, the success of the team may hinge on who steps up on the defensive line and how well Christopherson adapts to the new environment. Coaches are optimistic about the team's potential, particularly if they can establish a strong front seven and maximize the efforts of their returning players.
