Nvidia agrees to acquire Hugging Face for $13B

While an agreement has not been finalized, the talks are ongoing. Hugging Face, which turned down a $500 million investment offer from Nvidia last year, values its neutrality in the open-source AI ecosystem, supporting models and hardware from various industry players.

Nvidia, known for its chip investments, has $18 billion committed to equity deals this fiscal year, alongside its existing $47.9 billion in private company stakes. Microsoft has also engaged with Hugging Face, but talks are reportedly not ongoing.
