Nepal Police Arrest Men Seen Stealing Earrings From Flood Victim’s Body - VIDEO

Nepal police have apprehended two men accused of stealing earrings from the body of a woman who perished in the catastrophic flash floods that ravaged the nation on Wednesday. The individuals were taken into police custody following the circulation of a distressing video on social media showcasing the theft. The footage depicted one man leveraging a wooden log to bring the deceased woman's body closer, while another man held the woman by her hair as he extracted the earring from her ear.

In response to the viral video, the Nepal Police announced on X that the "individuals were apprehended for removing the earrings from the deceased's ear." The graphic video sparked widespread condemnation on social media platforms, with the clip quickly accumulating over 1.1 million views within a short span. Nepal is grappling with one of its most severe natural disasters, resulting in a death toll of at least 175 and nearly 800 people reported missing, according to earlier reports.

The Nepal Tourism Board has also confirmed 644 tourists and travelers are unaccounted for, comprising 178 Indians, 127 Nepalese nationals, 65 Americans, and 53 Ukrainians. Rescue and search operations are ongoing across the affected regions.
