Minor League Recap: Welbyn Homers, Jake Fox Has Huge Day

In a challenging season, Yorman Gomez faced more adversity as he surrendered a whopping four earned runs on six hits, including three home runs. Gomez's ERA has climbed to an alarming 7.19 this season.

Defensive stalwarts Steven Perez, Connor Brogdon, and Carlos Hernandez managed to record a solid 4.2 innings of relief with no runs allowed. The offense, however, struggled mightily.

Daniel Schneemann came to bat for the RubberDucks, going 2-4 with a home run of his own. Kyle Manzardo and Kody Huff contributed with an RBI double each, while Schneemann's team ultimately prevailed in a 7-5 thriller.

Jake Fox and Bennett Thompson were the stars of the night for the Clipper side. Fox went 3-3 with three RBIs and a triple, raising his batting average to an impressive .311 with a .878 OPS for the season. Thompson contributed significantly with a 3-4 performance and an RBI double of his own.

On the pitching side, Ryan Degges delivered a solid performance, allowing just two earned runs in 4.2 innings. The RubberDucks' ERA has improved to an impressive 2.41 thanks to his efforts.

The showtime Captains, led by 20-year-old Welbyn Francisca, continued their impressive run. Francisca went 2-5 with a homer and three RBIs, showcasing his immense talent at such a young age. The team's batting average stands at an impressive .289 with a .937 OPS.

Tommy Hawke, Anthony Martinez, and Jose Pirela all contributed multi-hit games, while Cannon Peebles added to the scoring with a home run of his own.

The Howlers were on the receiving end of a tough day, as they were shut out with only four hits and one walk, facing five strikeouts. Alejandro Garza and Deiten Lachance each went 1-4.

Pitcher Ryan Desanto had a solid outing, allowing just two runs in 5 innings while striking out five. His ERA has improved to a respectable 4.37 on the season.
