Man killed by brother in Nyamira land dispute

On Wednesday, August 26, a 60-year-old man named Charles Osoro lost his life in a violent incident on his farm in Gekano Sub-location, Nyamira County. According to police, Osoro's brother attacked him, striking him several times on the back of the head with a hoe, leading to severe bleeding. Osoro was discovered lifeless at the scene.

The weapon used in the attack was found in a nearby banana plantation, approximately 50 meters away from where the attack took place. Osoro's body was transferred to Tombe Medicare Mortuary in a police vehicle, while his brother, Seke, was arrested and taken to Sengera Police Station for further investigation and potential prosecution.

In another incident in Nyamira County, the death of 69-year-old Modesta Kemunto Isaboke was discovered along a pathway in Ogango Sub-location, Central Kitutu Location. Police reported that her body was found on Monday morning by a resident named Isaac Onderi Siringi, who informed authorities of her disappearance. Kemunto had reportedly visited a nearby shopping center on Sunday, where she bought items for supper before returning home.

Her body was discovered at around 11:30 am on Monday, approximately 200 meters from her residence. The police noted that she had visible injuries on her thighs and legs, suggesting she may have been attacked prior to her death. Detectives thoroughly processed the crime scene and documented the evidence before the body was transported to the Nyamira Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.

This postmortem will determine the exact cause of death and provide additional clues to the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police are actively investigating the case to identify the perpetrator and determine the motive behind the suspected attack. The murder investigation is ongoing.
