Luis Enrique stresses importance of PSG squad as Dembele gets time to rest

Paris St Germain manager Luis Enrique has reiterated the importance of his squad's rotation ahead of their upcoming match. He explained that players who featured in the World Cup, such as Ousmane Dembele, require recovery time and are given ample opportunity to rest. Dembele played in PSG's UEFA Super Cup win but was substituted at halftime during their league opener against Stade Rennais due to lack of rest.

Enrique emphasized the significance of having a diverse lineup, stating that winning trophies requires more than just 11 players on the field. He highlighted PSG's success in previous seasons due to the involvement of players like Goncalo Ramos, Lee Kang-in, and Bradley Barcola, whose current status remains unchanged. Regarding Torres' potential to start, Enrique affirmed that the forward will be an essential player for the team. The manager will not watch the Champions League draw, opting instead to cycle around Paris.
