‘Lanterns’ Debuts at No. 2 on Streaming Charts, but Can’t Beat This Big Boy | Chart

As summer's end approaches, the Samba weekly Wrap Report streaming chart experiences a period of change. No longer is "House of the Dragon" the summer hit; it has fallen from prominence for the first time in two months. Other familiar names from the chart are wrapping up their series. Nevertheless, new titles continue to emerge in the streaming world, and this week, four debuts grace the rankings, including a fresh HBO Max series occupying the second spot.

To begin, "Reacher," an Amazon Prime Video adaptation of Lee Child's novels, retains its top position for the second consecutive week. The fast-paced season, with the first three episodes launching on August 12 and the final eight concluding on September 16, seems to be a crowd-pleaser. Another debut this week is "Lanterns," which holds the second position on HBO Max.

This marks the third DC Universe series on streaming, following "Creature Commandos" and "Peacemaker." Known for its blockbuster "The Penguin" in late 2024, HBO Max's library also includes "Lanterns." Meanwhile, "Ted Lasso," Apple TV+'s notable success, takes the third place this week, followed by "Special Ops: Lioness," a spy thriller starring Zoe Saldaña.

"Outer Banks" and "Don't Say Good Luck," two more Netflix teen dramas, occupy the fifth and sixth positions, respectively. "Facing El Chapo," a Mexican drama about the pursuit of a notorious drug lord, ranks seventh. Apple TV+ adds two more shows in the top ten, "Lucky," a crime thriller led by Anya Taylor-Joy, and "Silo," a science fiction series returning for its third season.

In linear television, "America's Got Talent" continues to dominate, followed by the classic "Wheel of Fortune," "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?," and "Jeopardy!" Among the newer additions, "Celebrity Family Feud" and "The Price is Right" round out the top ten.
