King voices concern over Malaysians caught in Nepal floods

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 — His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has called on Wisma Putra to take all necessary steps to aid Malaysians impacted by the floods in Rasuwa, Nepal. According to an update on the Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar Facebook page, His Majesty instructed that the most recent information about their safety and location be shared with their respective family members.

"I have been monitoring the situation since it was first reported yesterday," His Majesty stated. "I also urge Wisma Putra to implement all necessary measures, including informing their family members about the current safety and whereabouts of the Malaysians involved." His Majesty also prayed for the smooth execution of all rescue and evacuation efforts for the affected Malaysians.

The Sultan and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, voiced their concerns and prayed for the safety of the Malaysians affected by the disaster. Their Majesties expressed their prayers for the safety of all victims and for ease in managing the situation, according to the post. Wisma Putra announced in a statement that families have been unable to reach more than 50 Malaysian travelers in Nepal following Wednesday's devastating floods, with hundreds of foreigners and Nepalese still missing.
