Karnataka govt. constitutes Cabinet sub-committee to address student issues and education reforms

The Government of Karnataka has formed a Cabinet Sub-committee to address student concerns and education reforms, according to an official memorandum. The committee, led by U.T. Khadar, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Minority Welfare and Haj & Wakf, will examine six key aspects related to students' experiences. These aspects include exam and recruitment integrity, cost of education and coaching regulation, infrastructure and quality in public institutions, curriculum and skilling alignment with employment, student mental health and wellbeing, and access and equity.

The committee will conduct extensive consultations with stakeholders such as students, parents, teachers, and institutions across the state. Its findings will be compiled into a report and submitted within one month. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar highlighted the government's commitment to understanding students' problems and aspirations as they seek to bring meaningful reforms to the education system.
