Iraola hoping for good news as Liverpool reportedly agree Barcola deal

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola expressed optimism regarding the potential signing of winger Bradley Barcola on Thursday. According to reports, Liverpool and Paris St Germain (PSG) have reached an agreement in principle on a deal worth approximately £120 million ($163.18 million), with over £100 million guaranteed. Barcola, who joined PSG in 2023 and has made 152 appearances for the club, has contributed 39 goals and 37 assists.

If the transfer materializes, Barcola would bolster Liverpool's attacking lineup alongside Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha, and Victor Munoz. Iraola emphasized that the club is actively seeking additional attacking options following Mohamed Salah's departure, while acknowledging that Hugo Ekitike's long-term injury sidelines him.

Regarding Cody Gakpo's future, Iraola highlighted the player's strong performance in pre-season, stating that the Dutch forward has been "very influential" in the team's games. Iraola acknowledged that with almost 30 potential signings on the club's radar, certainty regarding any player's future remains uncertain.
