Indonesian stars Reza Rahadian and Christine Hakim lead Erma Fatima’s return to filmmaking with ‘Langit 2 Warna’

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 — Reza Rahadian and Christine Hakim, two acclaimed Indonesian stars, will lead Malaysian director Erma Fatima's new feature, Langit 2 Warna. This marks Erma's return to film directing after a decade-long hiatus, as the upcoming movie was officially introduced to the media at an exclusive event at Wyndham Suites KLCC in Kuala Lumpur. The film will feature a mix of Malaysian and Indonesian stars, with shooting locations set in Malaysia, Indonesia, Cairo, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.

Reza will portray the character of Salafi, while Christine will play Ibu Aishah Khalida in this religious-themed film. The movie delves into love, family, personal beliefs, and the price of truth, exploring how people living under the same sky perceive life through very different perspectives. Reza expressed his interest in the project due to the unique story and the intriguing character of Salafi.

Christine, a veteran of the Indonesian film scene and often regarded as the "grande dame of Indonesian cinema", was drawn to the project due to her long-standing friendship with Erma and the film's exploration of religion through meaningful dialogue rather than conventional horror tropes.

Both stars are eager to bring their talents to the big screen in the Malaysian feature, with filming set to begin in November and December. The project also involves a cast of other talented individuals, including Ummi Nazeera, Eman Manan, Umie Aida, and Datuk Ahmad Tamimi Siregar. As of now, Langit 2 Warna does not have an official release date.
