Important to inculcate value of freedom in children: Chief of Air Staff

The Birim Youth Association (BiYA) has requested the Chief of Staff's office to release the findings of a National Investigations Bureau (NIB) inquiry related to the Birim Central Municipal Assembly. BiYA's Convenor, Kingsly G. Adofo, stated during a press conference in Akyem Oda that the matter was first brought to the Chief of Staff's office in February 2026 and subsequently referred to the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs for investigation by the NIB.

BiYA believes that publishing the report would promote transparency, accountability, and public understanding of the investigation's outcome, rather than allowing public opinion to be influenced by media speculation. Adofo emphasized that the association is not making judgments on individuals involved but seeks to ensure the reported investigation is made available to the public.

He also appealed to the Member of Parliament for Akim Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, to support their request. BiYA expressed confidence that the Chief of Staff's office would consider their petition, with the understanding that publishing the findings, subject to legal or investigative restrictions, would help safeguard reputations and strengthen public confidence in state investigative institutions.
