Former NBA Star Takes on Surprising New Role With Late-Night TV Show

Former NBA star Blake Griffin announces he will be hosting his own weekly talk show called "The Stepback with Blake Griffin". The show, produced in partnership with Amazon Studios, YouTube and Wondery, will premiere on October 20 and feature new episodes every Tuesday during the NBA season. Griffin plans to share his perspectives on various sports topics, including gambling and NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness).

Griffin shared his excitement about the opportunity, stating, "Finally, a chance to recreate the last few seasons of my career: sitting down." Griffin's expertise extends beyond basketball, as he has extensive experience in the entertainment industry. He co-founded Mortal Media, a film and television production company, with former NFL player Ryan Kalil.

Griffin has also made appearances in popular shows such as "Saturday Night Live", the remake of "White Men Can't Jump", and "The Simpsons". Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Griffin expressed his admiration for shows like "The Daily Show" and "Last Week Tonight", and emphasized that hosting "The Stepback" allows him to bring his own unique perspective to the genre.
