Fire destroys Hamlyn House Master’s belongings at Adisadel College

A fire broke out at a residence on the Adisadel College campus in Cape Coast, resulting in the loss of personal possessions belonging to Mathematics teacher and Hamlyn House Master, Eugene Selasi Dzeble. The incident took place late on Wednesday, August 28, 2026. Dzeble informed that the fire may have been caused by recurring power fluctuations on the campus, which had been occurring prior to the incident.

Despite the efforts of the Ghana National Fire Service, the flames had consumed most of the family’s belongings by the time they arrived on the scene. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished before it could spread to a nearby dormitory. Dzeble has shown appreciation for the support provided by the Central Regional Director of Education, the Board Chairman, Bishop Baffoe, the school management, and his colleagues.

Central Regional PTA Treasurer Christopher Mensah has appealed for assistance from individuals, organizations, parents, philanthropists, benevolent groups, and the Adisadel Old Boys Association members, both in Ghana and abroad, to help the affected family with essential items such as mattresses, bags, suitcases, beds, furniture, and financial aid to replace some of their lost belongings.
