Exclusive: The Lancer TTRPG Is Getting New Hardcover Editions in 2027

Massif Press and Dark Horse Books are set to release two new printed editions for the Lancer TTRPG in March 2027. These new hardcover editions, Operation Fulcrum Dawn: Introductory Narrative Modules for Lancer and Lancer: Setting Guide Volume 1, will be available for preorder starting today. Both books are designed to complement the core rulebook, which launched in 2024.

Operation Fulcrum Dawn: Introductory Narrative Modules for Lancer consists of two modules aimed at introducing new players to the game. Operation Solstice Rain sees characters, who are rookie Union mech pilots, undertake rescue missions amidst escalating conflict between the Leandric States Alliance and the Vestan Sovereignty. In contrast, Operation Winter Scar involves characters advancing to LL 4 and facing off against the Vestan Sovereignty Armed Forces in more advanced combat scenarios.

Each module includes printed battle maps and tactical advice to assist players unfamiliar with the gameplay.

Lancer: Setting Guide Volume 1, on the other hand, offers two settings expansions in a single book. The first setting, the Karrakin Trade Barronies, is an ancient human civilization in Union space, characterized by deep tradition, legend, and political intrigue. However, the Barronies is facing economic decline and rising Republicanism, presenting opportunities for players to shape the future of this region.

The second setting, the Long Rim, is a lawless sector of Union space filled with corrupt enterprises, pirate outfits, and various groups, including the mysterious HORUS cells and the clandestine Horizon Collective. Players can choose to become scoundrels or paragons in this sector. Preorders for the setting guide will be available starting today, with a release date of March 30, 2027, at a price of $29.99.
