Elijah Kururia challenges Ruto, Gachagua and Nyoro to declare wealth

Gatundu North's Elijah Kururia has called on President William Ruto, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro to publicly declare their wealth and explain how their fortunes have changed since joining the government. During a recent interview, Kururia praised Gachagua for uniting the Kikuyu community, but urged him not to rejoin Ruto's political camp.

The MP acknowledged Gachagua's rise from a one-term MP to Deputy President, but urged him to remain in opposition ahead of the 2027 General Elections. Kururia then turned his attention to allegations of corruption within the Kenya Kwanza administration, challenging Ruto, Gachagua and Nyoro to disclose their wealth when they entered government and their current net worth.

He specifically referred to Gachagua, asking him to explain how much they stole together with Ruto. Kururia also questioned Nyoro's role in government as chairperson of the National Assembly Budget and Appropriations Committee, asking him to disclose how much he allegedly stole during his tenure. The calls for transparency come amid renewed debate over the financial records of former Kenya Kwanza leaders, with Gachagua alleging that public funds were misused for political purposes.
