Education Ministry honours new teachers, mentors under ‘Successful Start’ programme

In Doha, Qatar, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) recognized graduates of the fourth cohort of the "Successful Start" (Bedaya Muwaqqa) program, along with 16 mentors who aided these new educators during their inaugural year in the educational sector. The ceremony was attended by MoEHE Undersecretary Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Nuaimi and other officials.

The "Successful Start" program, overseen by the Training and Development Centre, aimed to aid new teachers in transitioning confidently and effectively from academic preparation to professional practice in government schools. In the 2025-2026 academic year, the program supported 149 newly appointed teachers, who were graduates of Qatar University's "Tamheen" program.

The initiative sought to bolster participants' professional integration, enhance classroom competencies, and equip them to meet high professional standards throughout the entire academic year. It provided a comprehensive system of professional training, educational mentoring, and field follow-up, focusing on enhancing teachers' readiness for classroom practice and supporting their professional stability and continued development.

Programme activities included specialized training workshops, individual and group mentoring sessions, classroom observations, professional learning communities, and regular feedback from educational mentors. These components enabled new teachers to refine their pedagogical and subject-specific skills while learning from experienced educators and exemplary teaching practices.

Najla Al Khater, Head of the Training Programme Planning Section, emphasized the program's mission to accompany new teachers through their initial steps in the profession, reflecting the ministry's belief that teachers are central to the educational process and a crucial foundation for its success. She praised the participants' enthusiasm for learning and professional growth, as well as the mentors and partners who contributed to the program's achievements.

Visual Arts teacher Kholoud Al Dosari, speaking on behalf of the participants, underscored the opportunities the initiative offered new teachers to acquire knowledge and experience, refine their classroom skills, and benefit from the expertise of educational mentors.
