E-scooter crash leaves teenage boy in critical condition

A 13-year-old boy in Childers, Bundaberg region, faces critical condition following an e-scooter crash yesterday. Emergency services responded to Macrossan Street, north of Brisbane, after reports of the single-vehicle incident around 6pm. Police are investigating the cause of the crash and are seeking dashcam footage from witnesses.

The boy, wearing a helmet, suffered severe head injuries and was airlifted to Queensland Children's Hospital. Bundaberg Highway Patrol officer Gordon Hard stated that police are examining the e-scooter to assess its speed capabilities as a potential contributing factor. This incident marks the second serious e-scooter accident in the region, following a fatal crash in Hervey Bay earlier this year.

Sergeant Hard warned parents to remove dangerous e-scooters and e-bikes from children's possession, emphasizing the potential danger of high-speed travel for such vehicles.
