Draymond Green Draws Attention With Comment About Klay Thompson
Golden State Warriors veteran forward Draymond Green is not one to shy away from letting his opinion be heard.
Draymond Green, a forward for the Golden State Warriors, is not one to hold back his views. In a recent podcast, Green commented on Klay Thompson's recent move to the Miami Heat. Thompson inked a two-year, $11.5 million deal with the Heat earlier this week, marking his 14th season in the NBA. The Warriors' teammate, now 36, signed with the Heat, a significant shift from his time with the Dallas Mavericks, where he averaged only 11.7 points per game over 69 appearances last season.
Green believes the media is setting Thompson up for failure, stating, "I feel like everyone's trying to set Klay up for failure. Let’s stop acting like 2017 Klay is going to Miami." Thompson is expected to return to his elite form with the Heat this season, providing outside scoring to the formidable duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.
The Miami team will kick off their 2026-27 NBA campaign against the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 21.
