Deputy CM launches gold, copper exploration work at Devadurga in Karnataka

Deputy Chief Minister M. Bhatti Vikramarka inaugurated the gold and copper mining exploration initiative of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) in Devadurga taluk, Raichur district, Karnataka on Thursday. He visited the Lingadahalli village site and inspected the exploration locations. The Deputy CM urged all stakeholders to collaborate in large-scale gold and copper extraction from the Devadurga mine, contributing to the nation's wealth.

SCCL secured the exploration rights for the Devadurga Block through a government bidding process. The Deputy CM promised to expedite the exploration efforts and expressed optimism that substantial gold and copper discoveries would generate substantial employment opportunities for local unemployed youth and foster the region's growth. He announced the establishment of a SCCL site office in Devadurga to oversee the exploration activities and the construction of a helipad to facilitate easy travel.

Recalling the shared Telugu and Kannada heritage of the region, separated by the Krishna River, the Deputy CM emphasized the historical bond between Telangana and Karnataka. He appealed for the cooperation of the local population to ensure the project's success. SCCL Chairman and Managing Director Buddhaprakash Jyothi, who had previously worked in the area as a Circle Inspector, expressed his joy at returning to Devadurga in his current role to launch the gold and copper exploration activities.

The event saw participation from officials and public representatives from both Telangana and Karnataka.
