Comic Con India to make Andhra Pradesh debut in Vizag

Comic Con India will make its debut in Andhra Pradesh, specifically in Visakhapatnam, for the 2026-27 season, beginning on October 10 and 11. The event will take place at the Kalam Convention Centre on the AMTZ campus and will feature international guests, cosplay showcases, interactive panel sessions, live music, stand-up comedy, exclusive launches, and fan zones. Following this inaugural event, Comic Con India plans to expand its reach to other cities across the country.

Shefali Johnson, CEO of Comic Con India, highlighted Visakhapatnam's deep connection to Telugu cinema and the city's burgeoning interest in anime, cosplay, and student communities. She emphasized the event's goal of blending local stories and cultural influences with newer forms of content and art, citing references such as the Telugu pop culture phenomenon, "Budugu."

Akshat Rathee, co-founder and managing director of NODWIN Gaming, stated that expanding to new cities is a strategic move to make pop culture accessible beyond traditional metropolitan centers, aligning with the company's vision of inclusivity for fans everywhere. The 2025 season alone attracted over 3.5 lakh attendees and visited 11 cities, marking it as the largest Comic Con India event to date.
