Chennai grew on me like no other place, says Head of Police Force

In 1996, the Head of Police Force, who has served Chennai in various capacities, arrived in the city for the first time. Initially, Chennai was a new place, far removed from the locales where the officer had lived prior to his arrival. However, as time went on, the city captured his heart and earned his admiration. The officer's emotional connection to Chennai deepened as he held different positions, including DCP Flower Bazaar, DCP Traffic, Additional Commissioner of Police, South Chennai, Commissioner of Police, and finally as DGP.

Throughout his career, he fondly recalls the challenging yet rewarding days spent on the ground as a DCP, working alongside his dedicated team. These experiences were, he asserts, more than made up for by the city's warmth, trust, and affection. In the role of Commissioner of Police, the officer witnessed another remarkable aspect of Chennai, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the unprecedented crisis faced by cities worldwide, the people of Chennai displayed an extraordinary sense of unity. They reached out to one another, shared essential supplies, provided support to those in need, and most importantly, extended their compassion and humanity. This collective spirit of unity, challenge, and compassion has made Chennai a part of the officer's life. He expresses deep gratitude for the affection, trust, and memories the city has bestowed upon him.
