Cagliari talent Trepy released from hospital 10 days after nearly drowning

Cagliari striker Yael Trepy has been released from the hospital 10 days after nearly drowning in a swimming pool. The 20-year-old player was rushed to the Santissima Annunziata Hospital in Sassari on August 17 in critical condition. Trepy was placed in an induced coma to make it easier for doctors to remove the large amount of water from his lungs.

Following a significant improvement, Trepy was moved out of the intensive care unit on August 21. Cagliari confirmed his release from the hospital, and he was accompanied by his mother as he embraced the doctors who cared for him. The team's director of pneumology, Pietro Pirina, stated that Trepy's condition is now overall good, thanks to a progressive improvement.

It is unclear when Trepy will be able to return to training, but the incident could have had much more serious consequences had the ambulance arrived more slowly.
