However, there is growing unease within the BJP due to a perceived disconnect between the party's new leadership and a significant portion of the electorate, particularly the Gen-Z demographic. The RSS, the ideological parent of the BJP, has also noted the growing disconnect and fatigue among state leaders. Some BJP insiders believe that the party's responses to issues raised by young protesters may have backfired, as statements defending the protesters' concerns were perceived as ineffective arguments against the opposition.

Additionally, there are worries about the impact of deploying union ministers to universities, as such interactions could be seen as monologues rather than productive dialogues, potentially leading to controversy and criticism from opposition parties.

Feedback from across the country indicates that the focus of youth protests has shifted to basic issues like education and employment, particularly in states like Uttar Pradesh, where the upcoming elections in 2023 have heightened concerns. The youth vote in Uttar Pradesh, which constitutes over 20% of the electorate, is a critical factor, with issues such as irregularities in recruitment exams and unemployment contributing to political volatility.
