Back to school: National ambulance boosts emergency readiness

Abu Dhabi's National ambulance has bolstered its emergency readiness to ensure prompt responses as students resume their education for the new academic year. To achieve this, the service has implemented dynamic deployment of ambulances along major roads and near schools, heightened readiness at the Ambulance Communications Centre, and maintained full operational capacity. The National ambulance is also collaborating closely with emergency response partners to guarantee a coordinated and timely response during the busy back-to-school period. The service has emphasized the importance of safety for students and parents, urging the use of seatbelts, designated school drop-off zones, and adherence to school bus and pedestrian safety rules.

In addition to these measures, the National ambulance has advised students to get enough sleep, stay well-hydrated, and to call 998 in case of a medical emergency. The return to school in Sharjah will see enhanced patrols, bus checks, and faster emergency response. Abu Dhabi Police are also prepared for a safe return to schools. Sharjah Civil Defence has trained 1,200 school bus staff to ensure passenger safety. Nearly 10,000 school buses are prepared to cater to the needs of UAE students.
