Ayariga praises Afenyo-Markin’s integrity despite political differences

Minister-designate for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, praised Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin on Thursday for his integrity, honesty, and commitment to parliamentary duties. During his vetting before Parliament’s Appointments Committee, Ayariga reflected on his working relationship with Afenyo-Markin, noting that he consistently defended the Minority’s position and challenged government policies.

Ayariga acknowledged the political nature of their roles and allowed Afenyo-Markin to make his case while he defended the government’s position. The Bawku Central MP stated that he appreciated Afenyo-Markin’s character and openness, and expressed hope for a constructive relationship with Afenyo-Markin’s successor, James Agalga. Ayariga assured fairness and impartiality in his future duties.
