Anwar: Govt steps up efforts to locate 54 Malaysians in Nepal

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that 54 Malaysians remain uncontactable following devastating flash floods in Nepal's Rasuwa district. The Prime Minister expressed his sorrow over the disaster that caused extensive damage in the area. Anwar confirmed the information provided by the Foreign Affairs Ministry regarding the 54 Malaysians who remain missing and stated that efforts to locate them and assess their condition are being diligently pursued.

The Malaysian Embassy in Kathmandu is collaborating closely with Nepalese authorities and pertinent agencies to obtain regular updates on the Malaysians' well-being. In addition, Malaysian officials from the High Commission in Dhaka, Bangladesh, are being deployed to bolster coordination on the ground. The government under Prime Minister Anwar's leadership will persist in monitoring the situation and ensuring that the safety and welfare of the affected Malaysians remain the utmost priority.

The Prime Minister appealed to the Malaysian public to pray for those uncontacted and to facilitate search and rescue operations. Anwar emphasized that the Madani government will closely monitor the situation and spare no effort to safeguard the well-being of the affected Malaysians.
