Zelenskyy: Oleksandrivka counteroffensive became historic operation proving Ukrainians can achieve their goals

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapaty visited troops fighting on the Oleksandrivka axis. During their meeting, they discussed ways to enhance the protection of the defenders. The Ukrainian leadership expressed several specific requests, including the need for drone supply, long-range artillery, small radars, direct financing for brigades, addressing the issue of unauthorized absence, and improving troop training and incentives. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of strengthening the defenders as much as possible.

In a subsequent statement on his Telegram channel, Zelenskyy thanked the servicemen serving at the front for their unwavering dedication. He also extended gratitude to those who have made it possible for Ukraine to celebrate its 35th anniversary of independence. Despite Russia's full-scale war beginning shortly after Ukraine's 30th anniversary of independence, Ukrainian soldiers have fought with pride and resilience to safeguard their state.

Zelenskyy acknowledged this resilience, stating that it is the primary reason Ukraine exists and continues to live. As part of the visit, the president presented state awards to the soldiers, expressing his appreciation for their service.
