Witness in ex-MP Prajwal Revanna rape case seeks protection after threat calls

A 43-year-old social worker, who helped a rape victim approach authorities, has sought protection from a Bengaluru court after receiving threatening phone calls. The witness claims the callers threatened to kill her or have her jailed. If anything happens to her or her son, she says Prajwal Revanna, the accused, is responsible. The court directed the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the complaint and provide necessary protection to the witness as per law.

Prajwal Revanna, the ex-MLA, was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in August 2025 for sexually assaulting a former domestic worker.
